The maiden event of Career Katta in the form of interactive session on ' Shattering the Glass Ceiling: Career Opportunities in Pageantry ' on Wednesday, 10th July 2024 with special initiative by Prof.Prajakta Raut, Coordinator, Career Katta. Ms Lipika Sharma, Miss India- Haryana 2024 and Glamanand Miss Universe- India contestant was the focal point as a Resource Person. The virtual event started with Invocation to Goddess Saraswati and in keeping with the tradition of Career Katta, Maharashtra Song to respect state ' asmita'. Prof. Shahbaz Rizvi introduced Ms Lipika Sharma whereas in his briefing address Prin. Dr. Alwin Menezes congratulated team Career Katta by adding that pageantry is often perceived merely as a spectacle of beauty and charm. However, it is far more than that. It is a dynamic field that opens doors to numerous career paths including modelling, acting, public speaking event, management, brand ambassadorship and even entrepreneurship. The skills honed through pageantry- confidence, poise, communication and leadership are invaluable and translate seamlessly into various professional arenas. The interaction began with question from Prin. Dr. Alwin Menezes who touched upon sponsorships or scholarships available for aspiring pageant contestants to which Lipika madam reverted that some pageants award scholarships to the winner, first runner-up and second runner-up. Scholarships are a common award in pageants and can be given to winners, runner- up or for specific attributes displayed during the competition. The amounts vary and contestants can use the scholarships at their chosen school. In the wake of sharing her journey from local pageant winner to global representation of country, Ms Lipika Sharma threw a flood of light on various issues including challenges involved in pageantry. Prof.Abhishek Sawant expressed vote of Thanks whereas Prin. Dr. Alwin Menezes on behalf of Abhinav College gave best wishes to Ms Lipika Sharma on the upcoming grand finale of Glamanand Miss Universe- India scheduled on 25th August 2024. The event ended with National Anthem
